• Like us birds tend to enjoy
their daily dip, particularly in hot weather, and so can
become distracted and more vulnerable to predators.
• Place bird baths well above ground out of reach of cats.
• On the ground make sure the bath is well away from ambush cover.
• A stone placed in the bath will provide a handy perch.
• A garden pond can become
the focal point of a wildlife garden for people and birds.
• Provide a branch or stones in the shallows for birds to drink and bath,
and a grassy edge for wild mammals to get easy access to the water.
