International award winning wildlife
television producer, author and broadcaster Andrew Cooper films
worldwide for the BBC Natural History Unit. Now based on his own
farm and private nature reserve in Devon, he has over 30 years
experience in the industry and is still working with some of the
biggest names in the business.
His documentaries often use cutting edge technology and the latest
techniques to create some of the most popular wildlife programmes
on television. He is acknowledged to rank among the best producers
and script writers by Sir David Attenborough, who wrote after
narrating one of his recent films:
“I watched the programme going out last
night with the greatest pleasure. It is a stunning film and I
congratulate you hugely on it.”
Andrew’s training courses and contacts in the industry have
helped many students realise their ambition to work in the world
of wildlife documentary television. Every year his courses provide
expert guidance and stimulation for many professional and amateur
enthusiasts from the travel and advertising industries, as well
as educationalists to produce quality wildlife videos that people
want to watch. He teaches many tricks of the trade using cranes,
jibs and camera dollies but perhaps best of all, how to think
like a professional documentary film maker.
Andrew has recently been described by an editor of the BBC Wildlife
Magazine, as a top class speaker. He is engaging, entertaining
and inspirational, keen to share his detailed knowledge with everyone
on his courses, primarily designed to be fun and informative.
The beautiful surroundings of Church Farm and Andrew's intimate
knowledge of his landscape, will help you to compose great camera
shots around the waterfall, medieval mill pond and ancient woods.
The lunches are a real bonus for their choice and mouth watering
quality served in the large lecture room converted from a Georgian
stable block, or the picturesque old courtyard. Last but not least
you can be assured of a warm welcome and memorable days.
